Anand Pandit hosts B-town’s biggest Diwali bash

On October 22, veteran producer Anand Pandit dispelled the gloom of the pandemic years with a glittering Diwali party which was attended by a galaxy of stars. The high-profile event saw a huge turnout with many generations of stalwarts and upcoming stars in attendance. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan who rarely socialises made time to attend the bash as he shares a very close bond with Pandit.

Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, and Ayushmann Khurrana were also among some of the names that sent fans into a tizzy when they made an appearance.

Other big stars from tinsel town who attended were Siddharth Malhotra, Kartik Aaryan, Manoj Bajpayee, Kapil Sharma, Sonu Sood, Rajkummar Rao & Patralekha, Richa & Ali Fazal, Taapsee Pannu, among others.

Speaking at the party Anand Pandit said, “Yes, this is a happy time professionally speaking but also because, after two years of restrictions, people are coming back not just to theatres but to pre-pandemic normalcy. This month Amit ji turned 80 so we also came together to extend his birthday celebrations. I was thrilled to once again welcome the film fraternity to share this special time and am truly grateful that we can all reconnect finally in person after such a difficult and challenging time.”

There was much to celebrate as this year has been a momentous one for Pandit with his production house churning out multiple releases. These include the Gujarati family entertainer and Amitabh Bachchan starrer ‘Fakt Mahilao Maate’ which is running successfully in theatres in Gujarat. Pandit also acquired the nationwide distribution of the Ayushmann Khurrana starrer ‘Doctor G’ and the film helmed by debutant director Anubhuti Kashyap, after its release on October 14, has opened to rave responses. His co-production ‘Thank God’ will be released on October 25, coinciding with Diwali, and stars Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra, and Rakul Preet Singh.

Pandit who won the ‘Iconic Producer of Indian Cinema Award’ recently also has a full slate of both regional and Hindi movies slated for release this year and the next.
