Guruji Dr Chandrabhanu Satapathy’s 80th Birthday and 25th Anniversary of Sri Guru Bhagabata Celebrated with Grandeur

The 80th birth anniversary of revered spiritual leader Guruji Dr Chandrabhanu Satapathy and the 25th anniversary of his self-composed sacred scripture, Sri Guru Bhagabata were celebrated with great joy and devotion at Hotel Swosti Premium. The auspicious occasion witnessed the presence of a large number of devotees, scholars, intellectuals, social leaders, politicians, and eminent personalities from across India and abroad.
Marking the milestone celebrations, Guruji’s book “Shirdi Sai Baba: An Inspirational Life” was formally unveiled. The book, which was first published in English and earned recognition as a bestseller, had earlier been released in Hindi and Marathi. On this occasion, its Odia edition was officially launched.
Another major highlight of the event was the release of the first Santali edition of Sri Guru Bhagabata, which was unveiled by Guruji himself. The revered scripture has been published in nine volumes and translated into almost all major Indian languages, reflecting its widespread spiritual influence.
Addressing the gathering, Guruji delivered a profound discourse on the elevation of inner consciousness. He reflected on the vastness of the universe, stating that compared to its infinite expanse, human understanding remains limited, making it impossible to fully comprehend God through restricted consciousness. He urged people to focus on leading a happy life, spreading happiness to others, and considering it their supreme duty to help the poor, suffering, neglected, and oppressed. Guruji emphasized that divine consciousness exists within all beings—not only humans but also animals—as all are creations of the Divine.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Swosti Premium Hotel Chairman, Shri Jitendra Kumar Mahanti, who spoke about Guruji’s extraordinary spiritual power, divine aura, and personal experiences, leaving the audience deeply moved.
On the occasion of Guruji’s 80th birthday, a variety of cultural programmes were presented. Young students, inspired by Guruji and trained through various temples, showcased Odisha’s rich heritage through classical Odissi dance and Jagannath devotional music. Renowned vocalists Antara Chakraborty, Sohini Mishra, Biswajit Mahapatra, and Shantanu Nayak mesmerised the audience with soulful bhajans.
Devotees from Sri Bhagabata Tungi, Gopalpur, formally welcomed Guruji with floral garlands. At the request of devotees and with Guruji’s permission, a birthday cake was cut and distributed as prasadam.
During the event, a new website dedicated to Sri Guru Bhagabata was also launched. Guruji noted that the scripture is now revered worldwide, translated into nearly 20 Indian languages, regularly recited by devotees, and supported by the establishment of Sri Guru Bhagabata Tungis at various places.
Additionally, a commemorative publication titled “Bhakta Manjari”, based on devotees’ spiritual experiences, was unveiled, adding further significance to the historic celebration.
