A Day of Nostalgia and Togetherness: Parmeet and Shefali’s Heartwarming Mumbai Outing

Actor Shefali Shah shared a heartfelt account of a nostalgic day out with her husband, Parmeet Sethi, describing it as a reminder of simple joys, shared memories, and enduring companionship.

The couple travelled “all the way from Madh to town”—a phrase familiar to Mumbai residents, referring to the stretch of the city south of Mahim and Bandra. For Shefali, the visit stirred memories of her early days as an aspiring actor living in South Mumbai, when iconic restaurants like Shamiana at The Taj Mahal Palace and the now-closed Samarkand at The Oberoi were among her favourite spots.

She fondly recalled long lunches at Samarkand, especially its bay windows overlooking Marine Drive and the Arabian Sea—views she describes as unforgettable. Though Samarkand has since given way to luxury retail, Shamiana continues to operate as a beloved landmark, updated but still carrying the charm of decades past.

A Lunch Filled With Nostalgia

At Shamiana, Shefali and Parmeet enjoyed a comforting meal—chhaunka palak, dal fry, lacchha parathas, and a non-vegetarian pulao for Parmeet. She highlighted the exceptional hospitality at The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, describing it as “unarguably the best in the world,” leaving them feeling pampered both in spirit and appetite.

Mumbai’s cooler temperatures also added to the pleasure of the day, making the experience more refreshing and memorable.

Beyond a Meal: A Day Built on Shared Moments

Shefali emphasised that the outing was not just about lunch. It was the journey from Madh to South Mumbai, a leisurely stroll through Kala Ghoda, spontaneous shopping, and sharing a large cup of hot tea on the ride back as they attempted to beat the evening traffic. These small, simple experiences, she said, made the day wholesome and joyful.

Her affectionate closing message to Parmeet—“Chalo, Mr. Sethi… let’s do this more often. Just you and I.”—underscored the significance of nurturing togetherness amid busy schedules.

The post resonated with audiences for its honest reflection on marriage, partnership, nostalgia, and finding happiness in the everyday.
