“Visibility Is a Privilege—Use It Mindfully”: Deepak Paramesh on Climate, Cleanliness, and Responsibility

Actor Deepak Paramesh, who was last seen in Ground Zero alongside Emraan Hashmi, shares a grounded and personal perspective on the environmental crisis as we mark World Environment Day. Known for his thoughtful approach both on and off screen, Deepak believes the climate conversation needs to be more real and urgent.

“Global warming isn’t just about warming anymore — it’s turning into intense, relentless heat day after day,” he says. Drawing from his own experience, Deepak recalls how summers felt a decade ago compared to now. “We rarely used air conditioners back then, and now they’ve become almost essential. Outdoor games have shifted to night-time because it’s just too hot. This change is even affecting health — Vitamin D levels are dropping, and dehydration is rising.”

For Deepak, environmental awareness starts with daily habits. “Cleanliness should be a part of our routine, not something we do once in a while. We have rules, but they’re often ignored. Stricter fines can help, but real change comes when each of us takes responsibility.”

The actor stresses that simple actions — using public transport, opting for electric vehicles, and cycling — can bring collective impact. “Small shifts in habits can lead to big changes for the planet,” he says, also highlighting the need to protect green spaces. “Trees are nature’s air purifiers, and we need more of them.”

Deepak’s message is rooted in accountability and the power of visibility. “When celebrities support meaningful causes, it can strongly influence fans and the public. People admire talent, yes, but they deeply respect values. Visibility is a privilege, and when used mindfully, it becomes a powerful tool for good.”

With a growing body of work in films and a voice that resonates beyond the screen, Deepak Paramesh reminds us that change begins with awareness — and action.
