Sikkim’s Devotart Becomes First-Ever Golden Buzzer Winner From the State on India’s Got Talent

Devotart, a dynamic folk–lok fusion troupe from Sikkim, has created history by becoming the first Golden Buzzer winner from the state on the national reality show India’s Got Talent. The achievement grants them a direct entry into the semi-finals and marks a major milestone for Sikkim’s cultural presence on national television.

A Performance That Blended Artistry, Precision, and Heritage

The troupe delivered a visually striking and emotionally charged performance, earning enthusiastic praise from the judges for their precision, stage presence, and cultural depth. Guided and choreographed by Nisha Rasaily, Devotart presented an innovative fusion that seamlessly combined:

  • The traditional Maruni dance
  • Influences from Sikkim’s Mask dance traditions
  • Nuanced elements inspired by Hindu mythology

This layered and immersive presentation captivated both the audience and the judging panel, making their Golden Buzzer moment a defining highlight of the season.

The Team Behind Devotart

The group comprises a vibrant ensemble of performers:
Om Prakash Sewa, Deepak Darnal, Nima Tshering Tamang, Landup Sherpa, Bivek Gurung, Abhijit Dey, Arpan Chettri, Prakash Sherpa, Anushka Pradhan, Drishty Thapa, Nisha Tamang, Preya Pradhan, Anisha Bishwakarma, and Rema Thakuri.

Original Music That Elevated the Act

Their performance was anchored by an original audio composition titled “Gairi Khet”, created by:

  • Composer & Lyricist: Padmashri Naren Gurung
  • Sarangi: Binod Darnal
  • Flute: Sombir Rai
  • Harmonium: Adith Manger

Local artists Damber Ghatani, Pranita Tamang, and Preetam Chettri also contributed significantly to the artistic production.
