Scorpions to Return to India in April 2026; Shillong to Host Band After Nearly Two Decades

German hard rock legends Scorpions are set to return to India in April 2026 as part of their Coming Home Tour, with Shillong among the four cities on the itinerary. The band will perform at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on April 21, marking their first concert in the city in nearly 20 years.

The iconic rock group—celebrated for timeless anthems such as Rock You Like a Hurricane, Wind of Change, and Still Loving You—last performed in India in December 2007. Their upcoming visit has sparked excitement among Indian rock fans, particularly in the Northeast, where Shillong has long been regarded as the country’s rock music capital.

The current Scorpions lineup features vocalist Klaus Meine, guitarist and founding member Rudolf Schenker, guitarist Matthias Jabs, bassist Paweł Mąciwoda, and drummer Mikkey Dee, formerly of Motörhead.

Expressing his enthusiasm ahead of the tour, Klaus Meine said the band is thrilled to return to India after such a long gap and is eager to reconnect with its large and passionate fan base. Rudolf Schenker added that bringing the Coming Home concert to India—nearly 60 years after the band’s founding—will be a special celebration for both the fans and the band.

The Shillong concert will open the India leg of the tour, followed by shows in Gurugram, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.

Artist presale tickets will go live on January 14, 2026, while general ticket sales begin on January 17 via BookMyShow. With anticipation running high, the tour is expected to be one of the biggest rock events in India in 2026.
