Producer and Filmmaker Karan Johar Released Statement,”I do not consume narcotics or encourage its consumption,”

Karan Johar do not consume narcotics

Filmmaker Karan Johar has issued an official statement on Friday to refute all the allegations about the consumption of drugs at his house party in 2019 that were doing the rounds on the internet. The party was attended by Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor and other top Bollywood celebrities.

Karan Johar said that he did not personally know two people being probed in a widening investigation into drug abuse allegations in Bollywood, refuting media reports that described them as his “aides”.

“Several media/news channels have been airing news reports that Kshitij Prasad and Anubhav Chopra are my ‘aides’/’close aides’. I would like to place on record that I do not know these individuals personally and neither of these two individuals are ‘aides’ or ‘close aides’,” he said in a statement.

He wrote, “No narcotics substance was consumed in the party. I WOULD LIKE TO UNEQUIVOCALLY ONCE AGAIN STATE THAT I DO NOT CONSUME NARCOTICS AND I DO NOT PROMOTE, ENCOURAGE CONSUMPTION OF ANY SUCH SUBSTANCE.”

He also clarified about the reports which suggested the involvement of his employees in the drug case. Reportedly, Kshitij Prasad of Dharma Production has been interrogated and arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau. Another individual named Anubhav Chopra who worked for the production house in 2011-12 was allowed to go home by the agency. Talking about the same Karan stated, “Anubhav Chopra is not an employee of Dharma Productions. He was briefly associated with us for only two months in the capacity of 2nd assistant director for a film in 2011-12 and as an assistant director for a short film in January 2013.”

He further added, “Mr Kshitij Ravi Prasad joined Dharmatic Entertainment (a sister concern of Dharma Productions) in November 2019 as one of the executive producers on contract basis for a project which eventually did not materialise.”

The filmmaker concluded his statement and mentioned, “In the past few days, the media has resorted to distasteful, distorted and false allegations. I hope the members of the media would exercise restraint else I will be left with no option but to legally protect my rights against this baseless attack on me.”

Meanwhile, in a shocking confession of KWAN talent management company employee Karishma Prakash before the Narcotics Bureau Control (NCB), it has been learnt from sources that actress Deepika Padukone had a WhatsApp group running dealing with drugs chats also she was the admin of that group. There were only three people in the chat group including Jaya Saha, Karishma Prakash and Deepika Padukone. Today Deepika will be questioned by NCB along with Shradha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan. Now it would be interesting to see how these youth icons are involved in this whole drug case.

However, yesterday in a massive revelation to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), actor Rakul Preet Singh claimed that the drugs recovered from her residence belong to Rhea Chakraborty. During her interrogation with the NCB, the actor claimed that Rhea would get drugs delivered at her residence, adding that the stash recovered from her home was not hers, sources said.

Although these are just allegations in the social media netizens are angry with these celebrities and troll them by asking are they deserve to be youth icons? Why their names come under NCB radar?
