Kundali is described as a suspense-horror film that explores the concept of fate and destiny. As the makers explain, every individual is born with a kundali (horoscope), but how and when it influences one’s life and destiny forms the crux of the narrative—something audiences will discover when the film releases. Odia audiences have earlier shown strong appreciation for the horror-suspense genre, particularly with the commercial success of Bou Buttu Bhuta. Inspired by that response, Kundali is being mounted on a larger scale with extensive use of VFX, making it one of the more technically ambitious projects in recent Odia cinema. Speaking to the media, director Rohanjit Das stated that Kundali aims to deliver a gripping cinematic experience filled with suspense, horror, and visual grandeur, promising wholesome entertainment for Odia moviegoers. With an increasing number of new producers and directors entering the industry and a growing emphasis on original content and improved production values, Odia cinema continues to evolve. The makers announced that Kundali will go on floors soon and is planned for a Raja festival release, adding to the festive excitement for audiences.
