“Jashn-e-Saliman”: An Art Exhibition Celebrating Legacy, Cinema and Stardom on Salman Khan’s 60th Birthday

On the occasion of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s 60th birthday, a special art exhibition titled “Jashn-e-Saliman” will be held on 25th and 26th December at the Mumbai Press Club, Mumbai. The exhibition is a unique artistic tribute that brings together cinema, culture, lineage and stardom through the medium of painting.

“Jashn-e-Saliman” goes beyond a conventional birthday celebration. Through a curated collection of artworks, the exhibition traces the creative legacy of legendary screenwriter Salim Khan, alongside the phenomenal journey and cultural impact of Salman Khan. The paintings explore not only fame and popularity, but also ancestry, family roots and cultural heritage, presenting a deeply personal and visual narrative.

From the ancestral origins in the Swat Valley (Pakistan- Afghanistan Border) to the heights of Indian cinema, the exhibition translates stories of migration, memory and creativity into colours, textures and visual metaphors. Salim Khan’s contribution to Indian cinema—his storytelling, emotions and iconic narratives—finds a respectful artistic homage, while Salman Khan’s stardom is portrayed as a cultural phenomenon that transcends cinema.

“Jashn-e-Saliman” has been curated and presented by senior journalist and author Jasim Khan, along with contemporary Indian artist Imran Khan.

Jasim Khan has previously been associated with leading media organizations such as Aaj Tak, ABP News and Zee News, and is also the author of Salman Khan’s acclaimed biography, Being Salman. Artist Imran Khan has participated in numerous national and international art exhibitions, and is known for his distinctive voice in contemporary Indian art.

Curated as a visual poem, “Jashn-e-Saliman” reflects how legacy transforms into art, and how cinema becomes a living cultural document. It is an experience designed for art lovers, cinema enthusiasts, cultural observers and media alike.
