I wanted to shoot a film in Scotland says Anand Pandit

Pandit is thrilled that he realised this dream by shooting his latest Marathi film ‘Musafiraa’ in the picturesque Isle of Skye

Scotland has been a favourite destination for film units and many blockbusters including ‘Mission: Impossible’ (1996), ‘Victoria & Abdul’ (2017) and ofcourse ‘Skyfall’ (2012) have been shot there. Ever since he saw the windswept locales where ‘Skyfall’ was shot, producer Anand Pandit had harboured a desire to film in Scotland and his dream came true with ‘Musafiraa.’

This Marathi entertainer has been shot in the breathtakingly beautiful Isle of Skye and Pandit says, “This is a lesser explored region and ‘Musafiraa’ is arguably the first Marathi film to have been shot here. It was thrilling to explore the stark beauty of its landscapes, fishing villages and medieval castles.”

But the film, he assures, is not just about sweeping Scottish vistas but about human relationships and the intricacies of friendship. The film is gathering much audience love and critical acclaim after its release on 2 February 2024, and is about a reunion trip that five close friends take in the wake of a broken engagement. However, the trip brings up many unresolved conflicts and endangers their friendship.

Directed by Pushkar Jog, the film stars Pushkaraj Chirputkar, Pushkar Jog himself, Dissha Pardeshi and Pooja Sawant.
