Writer-Director Garima Bhoria’s latest short film “
GHUNGHROO is currently trending at No. 2 on WAVES OTT, positioned right between two legends of Indian cinema — Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan.

At the top spot is “Ek Mulakat with Big B,” released on Amitabh Bachchan’s birthday, followed by “GHUNGHROO” in second place, and “Fauji” starring Shah Rukh Khan at No. 3. GHUNGHROO premiered on October 10, 2025, and has quickly captured audience attention for its emotional depth and artistic storytelling.

Expressing her happiness, Garima Bhoria, the director of GHUNGHROO and The Entrance (both released on WAVES OTT), shared,

GHUNGHROO is an adaptation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s timeless classic story “Mahesh.” Speaking about the inspiration behind the film, Garima added,
“This film wouldn’t have been possible without the immense support of my father Shri Jai Bhagwan Bhoria and my company partner at Jai Maa Manasa Mangal Films LLP, Chandra Shekhar Dutta. Chandra Shekhar Dutta played double role in THE ENTRANCE as Raghav and Madhav. Chandra Shekhar and I are students of cinema, psychology, and mythology. Earlier, The Entrance also trended on the platform, and now we’re truly delighted that GHUNGHROO is finding its place between Big B and SRK.”

Chandra Shekhar says,
“After receiving the Bachchan Citation and the Special Talent Reward at FTII, I had hoped to work with Amitabh Bachchan someday, or perhaps get an opportunity at ABCL. But even reaching this point — being featured alongside him — is itself a matter of great pride.”

Both GHUNGHROO and The Entrance are available for streaming on WAVES OTT, marking a new wave of emotionally rich and culturally rooted Indian storytelling in contemporary ways.
