Nagamese Hindi Film "Mechanic Dada"

“Mechanic Dada” is a Nagamese Hindi film shot in Nagaland, the film revolves around a Mechanic who loses his leg in an accident that leads him to live a poor life. He happens to meet a little boy and they become friends. Its a very sensitive story of friendship written by Hekishe Sema, produced by Rebecca Changkija Sema, coproduced by Mrs.Alila Sema and directed by Shiraz Henry.

The film is getting ready for OTT release. All the actors are from Nagaland and Kartic Karan plays the lead character in the film along with Toka who plays the kids role. Chuzho Zhokhoi will be seen in the role of Kids father.

Producer Rebecca Changkija Sema admits that she wants to showcase the talent of Northeast through this film.

Director Shiraz Henry shares, “This was my 3rd film in Northeast, the other 2 movies namely Te Amo and Little Boy ( 2019 ) were shot in beautiful states Meghalaya, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. While Little Boy and Te Amo had a decent budget, Mechanical Dada is a small budget one, however, the story attracted me a lot I decided to make it. Any subject that has human values attracts me and here the story of a kid who makes friends with a crippled man in the street is a fantastic story jotted by Nagaland based writer Mr Hekishe Sema. I have spent a good amount of time in North East India while making Little Boy, I truly fall in love with people of Arunachal Pradesh .”

He further added, “Little boy was a full feature film based on a real story of Yumlam Achung whereas Mechanic Dada is a fiction drama but still its made in a very realistic manner.”

Henry simply admires the natural beauty of North East and reconfirms, “People of North East India are very talented, in every house-hold, you will find a musician or a singer. This is my second venture in Nagaland after I made a documentary which I shot in Longthu, Mokukchung for Mr.Temjen Imna. We shot in 52 villages where Mr.Along had arranged drinking water, tube-wells, public toilets, retention walls and many more facilities for the people of Nagaland. That trip was memorable and I must extend my sincere thanks to Rebecca Changkija Sema for introducing me to North East .”

Shiraz Henry has been associated with Producer Rebecca for the past many years and the due has gifted us with many films. “The Dark Secrets of Tonhi”, the real-life story of dark magic starred Natasha, J.Brandon.Hill, Alex Peters, Priyanka Joshi, Smita Siah is another realistic film from the duo. The motion picture was made under the banner of Find Studios and produced by Rebecca Changkija Sema and Ajay Najat. It is the real-life story of a woman named Tonhi and how she used her black magic in Chhattisgarh. This film is also a serious psychological drama by Shiraz Henry. The critics, however, consider his movies to be unexpectedly marvellous and he touches the sensitive parts of the society which others are afraid of going there.
