The Yoodlee production promises to be an action-packed crime drama

Finally, the wait is over! ‘Kasargold’, one of the most eagerly anticipated Malayalam movies of the year, is scheduled to hit screens on 15th September, 2023. Expected to be an exciting youth-centric blockbuster, this film, featuring a star-studded cast including Asif Ali, Sunny Wayne in lead roles, has already sparked curiosity among the audience. It is also the third Malayalam project from Yoodlee Films, the film studio division of Saregama India Ltd.

The movie’s teaser, released in the second week of July, has already taken the industry by storm. The clever use of reverse motion coupled with Vishnu Vijay’s catchy music offers a glimpse of the power-packed youthful entertainer, delighting audiences across generations.

“This is our third Malayalam film following ‘Padavettu’ which was a very socially relevant subject set in rural Kerala and ‘Kaapa’ which was an urban crime thriller. ‘Kasargold’ is a thrilling, youthful movie, set in the northernmost district of the State. As evident from the teaser, it’s entertaining, it’s crowd-pleasing but at the same time very cleverly staged and written, both in terms of characterization as well as plot twists,” said Siddharth Anand Kumar, Sr. Vice President of Films & Events at Saregama India.

The movie will also mark Yoodlee Films’ collaboration with Asif Ali once again, following their successful partnership in ‘Kaapa’. Asif Ali stated, “Post the Covid-19 pandemic, the audience wants dynamism, fast-paced, big-screen entertainment. The term ‘theatre experience’ holds immense importance nowadays, and we believe that ‘Kasargold’ will offer the audience just that apart from sheer thrill which only an immersive entertainer can provide.”

‘Kasargold’ is the second film of actor-turned-director Mridul Nair. His debut directorial, ‘B-Tech’, also featuring Asif Ali in the lead role, was a huge hit at the Box Office.

“While thinking of a story, I prefer my protagonist to be relatable. That’s the primary reason why Asif comes to mind because he brings a grain of truth to every performance of his. Additionally, we share a special vibe as we know each other well, which results in effective communication and yields good results,” said Mridul Nair, who has also penned the script along with Sajimon.

Actor Sunny Wayne added, “Synergies across industries offer comprehensive production support and expertise, which will help increase the reach of Malayalam cinema beyond geographical boundaries and linguistic barriers. I have no doubt that this film will enthrall the masses all across the country.”

Producer Suraj Kumar said, “When Mridul narrated this script to me, I was thrilled by its many layers and captivating characters. To see the film come to life on the big screen will truly be a dream come true.”

Co-produced by Mukhari Entertainment LLP, the cast of ‘Kasargold’ includes P P Kunhikrishnan, Malavika Sreenath, Sreeranjini Nair, Sidhique, Sambath Ram, Deepak Purambol, Dhruvan, Abhiram Radhakrishnan and Sagar Surya. Vishnu Vijay is the music director of the movie which will see lyrics penned by Muhsin Parari and action choreography by some of the major fight masters from South India including Supreme Sundar, Billa Jagan, and Mafia Sasi.
