Aashish Solanki’s BroCode Roast Ends with Onkar Rao Proposing to Shreya Priyam Roy in Explosive Season Finale

In a season finale no one could have scripted, BroCode Roast—hosted by comedian Aashish Solanki—ended not with a punchline, but a proposal.

What started as a no-holds-barred roast battle between two teams of India’s top comic talent took a sharp left into romance, as comedian Onkar Rao surprised the live audience, panel, and viewers by getting down on one knee and proposing to fellow comedian Shreya Priyam Roy—right in the middle of his roast set. With a ring in hand and the crowd roaring, Shreya said yes, sealing the season’s most unforgettable moment.
Joining them on stage in this high-energy finale were Madhur Virli, Kaustubh Agarwal, Pavitra Shetty, Rajat Sood, Rohit Singh, and Kushagra Srivastava—who watched the roast turn into a rom-com in real time.

Aashish Solanki, creator of BroCode Roast said, “The BroCode Roast episode was already special, doing a roast with your closest friends feels personal in the best way. So, when Onkar told me he wanted to propose to Shreya, I was instantly in. That’s just basic wingman duty. We planned the moment quietly, most of the crew and panel had no clue. We curated the line-up, installed confetti, and built the surprise beat by beat. And the fact that this all went down on April 1st? Peak chaos. No one saw it coming. Big shoutout to BroCode — they don’t just support wild ideas, they empower them. Having a partner that backs your madness and lets you create without limits? That’s rare.”

Shreya Priyam Roy said, “No one’s ever surprised me before — like, ever. And Onkar was doing such a good job of pretending he never would. I remember once I told him it’d be cute to propose on stage during a jam, and he straight-up gaslit me like, ‘What a cringe idea! We’re artists, this is our workplace, we don’t do this stuff!’ And I was like — fair enough, that’s true. So, when it actually happened, on April 1st, at roast, while he was performing — I genuinely thought it was a prank. I took forever to react, even checked the ring to make sure it was real before putting my hand forward!”
Onkar Rao said, “The episode was shot on April 1st, so worst case, I could’ve called it a prank and walked away — but truth is, I knew this was it. I wanted to marry her and doing it in front of the people who mattered, my closest friends on that panel — it just felt right.”

“This show’s given us some wild Broments—but being part of this one? Completely unimaginable,” said Anupam Gurani, Chief Marketing Officer at Indobevs, creator of BroCode Roast. “We always knew Bro Code Roast was the place for bold comedy—but turns out it’s also where love finds the mic.”

The episode wraps up a blockbuster season of BroCode Roast, a show that’s pushed the envelope of Indian comedy with its unfiltered humor, unexpected twists, and now—an on-stage engagement.
