Aadesh Chaudhary on Amitabh Bachchan’s Legacy: From ‘Deewar’ to ‘Piku’, His Versatility Inspires Generations

As megastar Amitabh Bachchan turns 83 on October 11, actor Aadesh Chaudhary joins millions of admirers in celebrating the living legend whose career continues to inspire generations. Aadesh, who has been part of popular television shows like Diya Aur Baati Hum, Sasural Simar Ka, Yeh Dil Sun Raha Hai, shared his heartfelt admiration for the veteran actor and reflected on the many lessons to learn from his journey.

“Amitabh Bachchan is not just a superstar — he is an institution in himself. His journey from struggling days to superstardom and sustaining relevance across decades is nothing short of miraculous. He has seen highs, lows, rejections, health challenges, yet he keeps reinventing himself with grace and humility. His story defines what true stardom and dedication mean,” said Aadesh.

Speaking of his favorite films, Aadesh shared, “Deewar and Piku are my absolute favorites. Deewar because it captures the intensity and fire that defined the angry young man era, and Piku because it shows his softer, more nuanced side. It’s incredible how the same man can bring both raw aggression and emotional vulnerability so effortlessly.”

On Mr. Bachchan’s long-standing role as the anchor of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), Aadesh added, “With KBC, he redefined how television could connect with people. He brought dignity, warmth, and intelligence to the show. The way he interacts with contestants, motivates them, and makes every episode feel personal — that’s pure magic. It’s not just hosting; it’s empathy on screen.”

When asked if he has ever met the veteran star, Aadesh smiled,“I have seen him once at an event, and honestly, even without speaking to him, you feel his aura. There’s a calmness and charisma around him that’s unmatched. He commands respect effortlessly.”

As for whether he envisions himself being as active at 80-plus, Aadesh replied with admiration, “It’s inspiring to see how disciplined he is even today — his routine, his punctuality, his passion for work. I would love to be even half as active and committed as he is at that age. If you love your craft deeply, age becomes just a number. That’s the biggest takeaway from his life.”
