Television actor Vibhu Raghave, known for the show Nisha Aur Uske Cousins, passed away after a long battle with stage 4 colon cancer on June 2. Actress Rozlyn Khan, who is a cancer survivor herself, was in touch with the actor, and even shared a screenshot of her chat with him on Instagram. In the chat, she asks him how he is doing, and he informs her that he is getting better.

“The last time I asked how he was, he said, “getting better”. Because that’s what fighters do: they hope, even when it hurts,” she wrote, just below the screenshot.

She also shared more about the journey of surviving cancer, and how it’s not as rosy as it is made to seem by a few. “Every death with cancer shakes me up. People see survivors in reels – smiling, inspiring, clapping at milestones. But real life isn’t edited. It’s messy, painful, uncertain. This is the difference between reel and real cancer survivors,” she wrote.

She added, “In real life, we lose people mid-conversation. We share fundraisers one day, and condolences the next. We say “getting better” even when we are barely holding on. Today I lost a fellow warrior, an actor, a survivor, a soul who knew the fight. And my fear creeps in again – because we’re all walking this tightrope together. But I’ll keep walking, bruised but still standing. For those who didn’t get their second chance, I’ll live mine with purpose.”

Rozlyn was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022 and has often spoken about facing her journey with remarkable courage.
