Rebecca Changkija Sema Receives National Honour for Her Contribution to Cinema and Social Empowerment

Renowned filmmaker and social entrepreneur Rebecca Changkija Sema has been honoured with the Pride of Nation Award 2025 by the National Nari Sashaktikaran Sangh. The prestigious ceremony took place at MP Bhavan, New Delhi, where the award was presented by Hon’ble Member of Parliament Mrs. Bhavna Pardhi in recognition of Rebecca’s remarkable contributions to Indian cinema, women empowerment, and community development.

Rebecca Changkija Sema, Founder of Find Studioz Production, North East Unsung Heroes Red Carpet Social Awards, and the North East India International Film Festival (NEIIF), has been a dynamic force in promoting the art, culture, and creative potential of Northeast India.

Recently, she successfully organised the 3rd Edition of the North East India International Film Festival in Mumbai. The festival has become a strong platform connecting the Northeast with the rest of India—encouraging filmmakers from across the country to shoot in the region, while also giving artists and creators from the Northeast a broader platform for national and global recognition.

Rebecca’s impactful work has also been recognised internationally — she has previously been honoured in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 and South Africa 🇿🇦 for her outstanding contributions to film, culture, and social empowerment.

Currently, she is working on a documentary from Nagaland dedicated to preserving ancestral stories and oral traditions, a heartfelt effort to safeguard the rich heritage and wisdom passed down through generations.

Expressing her gratitude, Rebecca said,

“This honour is not just mine—it belongs to my people, my land, and my journey. I’m deeply grateful for this recognition and will continue to dedicate my work towards empowering youth and women through art and storytelling.”

With over 15 years of dedicated service to Indian cinema, cultural preservation, and social upliftment, Rebecca Changkija Sema continues to be an inspiring voice from the Northeast—bridging communities and celebrating diversity through her work.
