Rajan Shahi’s DKP Productions Launches Thoughtful Initiative to Protect Stray Animals on Sets — Inspired by Daughter Ishika Shahi

Director’s Kut Productions, helmed by acclaimed producer Rajan Shahi, has launched a compassionate new initiative aimed at protecting stray animals around shooting locations. The thoughtful step was inspired by his daughter, Ishika Shahi, whose deep love for animals sparked this awareness campaign.

Speaking about the initiative, Rajan Shahi shared,
“This initiative is deeply inspired by Ishika’s compassion towards stray animals. Wherever we shoot, she makes it a point to care for the strays around ensuring they’re safe and looked after. Over the time, we observed that many animals, especially during extreme heat or rains, tend to seek shelter under parked vehicles. That’s when we realized something as simple as checking under your car or tapping the hood before starting the engine could actually save a life. It’s a small but significant step towards kindness.”

The production house has installed bilingual standees (in Hindi, Marathi and English) across all sets, urging people to look around and under their cars before driving, and to stay alert while on the road to prevent accidents involving stray animals.

“We’ve begun placing these standees at all our shooting spots and are even donating some to other locations with high stray populations,” Shahi added. “It’s a small effort, but one that can make a big difference.”

With this initiative, DKP Productions not only continues to set benchmarks in storytelling but also in social responsibility — showing that compassion behind the scenes is just as important as what’s shown on screen. Kudos to this thoughtful initiative.
