Netflix announces two originals with Dia Mirza: Ikka with Sunny Deol & Akshaye Khanna, and Operation Safed Sagar

Indian Actor, Producer, UN Goodwill Ambassador  Dia Mirza today announced her association with two upcoming Netflix India originals at the platform’s much-anticipated slate announcement ‘Next on Netflix event’.

Leading the lineup is Ikka, a high-octane Hindi action-thriller starring Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna, marking their reunion after nearly three decades. Directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra, Ikka explores themes of power, resistance, and moral conflict, set against a gripping, action-driven narrative. Dia Mirza plays a pivotal role in the film, which is slated for a 2026 release and has already wrapped shooting.

Also announced today is Operation Safed Sagar, an ambitious Netflix India series inspired by true events and based on a lesser-known chapter of the Kargil War. The series brings to life the Indian Air Force’s pivotal role during the conflict and follows the extraordinary courage of IAF pilots who undertook one of the most daring missions in Indian military history. Created by Abhijeet Singh Parmar and Kushal Srivastava and directed by Oni Sen, co-starring Siddharth, Jimmy Shergill and others, the series is produced by Matchbox Shots and Feel Good Films, with the support of the Indian Air Force.
