The ongoing marital dispute involving Indian boxing legend Mary Kom has taken a sharper turn, with her estranged husband Onler issuing a series of counter-allegations after the Olympian accused him of unlawfully taking control of assets worth several crores.

Earlier, Mary Kom had alleged that land and properties she acquired through years of dedication to the sport were no longer in her possession, claiming that Onler had taken over assets she considers rightfully hers. Her statements brought the private dispute into the public domain and triggered widespread attention.

Responding to these claims, Onler has now levelled serious counter-accusations, alleging that the six-time world champion was involved in extramarital relationships—an assertion that has further intensified the public fallout surrounding the couple.

In a media interaction, Onler alleged that in 2013, Mary Kom was involved in a relationship with a junior boxer, which he said led to tensions between their families at the time. According to him, the matter was later resolved through mutual understanding. He further claimed that from 2017 onwards, Mary Kom has been in a relationship with another individual associated with the Mary Kom Boxing Academy.

“In 2013, she was having an affair with a junior boxer. Our families had a fight, and later we reached a compromise. Since 2017, she has been in a relationship with someone working at the Mary Kom Boxing Academy. I have WhatsApp messages as proof. I remained silent,” Onler was quoted as saying.

Onler stated that he does not object to Mary Kom moving on in her personal life but questioned her decision to publicly accuse him of wrongdoing. He maintained that any allegations should be backed by documentary evidence.

“I don’t mind if she wants to have another husband. But don’t blame me. If you want to accuse me, bring proof and documents,” he said, adding that he is aware of her current living arrangements.

Adding another dimension to the dispute, Onler also alleged that Mary Kom consumes alcohol, including vodka and rum—countering her earlier claims that portrayed him as the one with drinking habits. These assertions, like others made by both parties, remain allegations and have not been independently verified.

The exchange of claims and counter-claims has drawn significant public and media attention, with the dispute now unfolding amid what appears to be an ongoing legal and personal battle.
