‘Love triangles reflect real-life dilemmas’: Niharika Chouksey on Anu’s tough phase in Tumm Se Tumm Tak

Actress Niharika Chouksey, who essays the role of Anu in Tumm Se Tumm Tak produced by Studio LSD, has spoken about the emotionally charged love triangle currently  in the show and why such tracks continue to strike a chord with television audiences.

The ongoing storyline shows Anu’s roka ceremony with Dr Mohit, a development that has left Aryavardhan heartbroken, while Anu herself is silently battling her own pain. Talking about this phase, Niharika said, “The roka sequence is extremely emotional. Aryavardhan is deeply hurt, and Anu is equally broken from within, but she chooses to stay strong for her parents. That inner conflict is what makes this track powerful.”

Sharing her thoughts on love triangles becoming a trend in daily soaps, the actress explained, “Love triangles mirror real life. Relationships are rarely black and white. There are misunderstandings, third angles, and emotional sacrifices, and daily soaps capture that reality very well.”

Niharika feels that such tracks add depth to long-running shows. “In daily soaps, love triangles help move the story forward. They bring intensity, emotional drama, and give characters a chance to grow. Without conflict, the story would feel flat,” she said.

Speaking about Anu’s emotional state, the actress added, “Anu is hurt, confused, and emotionally torn, but she doesn’t want to hurt her parents. Many viewers relate to that — choosing family responsibilities over personal happiness is something people experience in real life too.”

She also pointed out how these storylines impact the audience. “Viewers connect because they see their own struggles reflected on screen. They understand Aryavardhan’s pain and Anu’s silence. That emotional relatability is why love triangles work so well,” Niharika shared.

According to the actress, when handled sensitively, love triangles strengthen the narrative rather than weaken it. “If written well, they don’t spoil the story. They actually make the characters’ journeys more meaningful and their final choices more impactful,” she said.

As Tumm Se Tumm Tak continues to keep viewers hooked with emotional twists, Niharika remains thankful for the audience’s response. “The way people react to these scenes shows how deeply invested they are. That kind of love motivates us to give our best,” she concluded.
