Russian films have always been known for their artistic values, for their thought provoking subjects and for their widely entertaining content. In the last few years, Russian films have been able to make their mark in various parts of the world. In India, last year Mumbai became the first city to host The Russian Film Festival which was widely appreciated by the cine-lovers of Mumbai.

This time, The Russian Film Festival is being held at Banaras which is known for its holiness and divinity. The 3 day festival will be held from 25th to 27th of August, 2023 at JHV Cinema (auditorium 3) situated at Mall road, near Cantonement area of Banaras, Uttar Pradesh. The Russian Film Festival is being organised in Banaras with the help of the Russian Ministry of Culture. On the closing ceremony of the festival, well known trade expert Komal Nahta, who loves to watch and track world cinema, will be present as the chief guest. In a video message issued by Komal Nahta, he has urged the cine-lovers of Banaras to come in large numbers to attend and enjoy The Russian Film Festival which is being held for the very first time in the city.

It is interesting to note that in the last few years Russian Films across the world have gained a lot of popularity among the cine-goers. More than 30 countries in the world have either hosted The Russian Film Festival or they have just integrated various kinds of Russian Films in their film own festivals. Such countries are India, China, Australia, Middle East, Latin America and CIS and many European countries. Till now, more than 160 Russian movies have been shown in these countries. Not only this, but in the last 3 years, 8.5 million people around the world have watched Russian films, web shows and animation films online, offline and even outdoors.
