Drishyam 3 Producer Alleges Unprofessional Conduct by Akshaye Khanna, Confirms Legal Action

In a major development surrounding Drishyam 3, producer Kumar Mangat Pathak has publicly accused actor Akshaye Khanna of unprofessional conduct and confirmed that a legal notice has been served following the actor’s sudden exit from the project.

Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Pathak said Akshaye had signed a formal agreement and accepted an advance but withdrew from the film barely ten days before his scheduled shoot. The producer described the move as unexpected and disruptive, especially given the tight continuity requirements of the franchise.

Pathak revealed that one of the key points of contention was Akshaye’s request to wear a wig for the role. He explained that Drishyam 3 begins immediately after the events of Drishyam 2, making any drastic change in the character’s appearance a continuity issue. According to the producer, this demand was not feasible within the narrative framework of the film.

The producer further claimed that Akshaye’s recent successes may have influenced his approach, alleging that the actor has become difficult to work with. Pathak went on to criticise what he described as a “toxic working energy” and stated that the production team was left with no option but to move on.

Confirming the recasting, Pathak announced that Jaideep Ahlawat has officially stepped into the role originally intended for Akshaye. He praised Jaideep, calling him a strong performer and a dependable professional, and said the team is confident about the transition.

Pathak also stated that legal proceedings are underway to recover financial losses caused by Akshaye’s last-minute departure from the Ajay Devgn-led project. As of now, Akshaye Khanna has not issued a public response to the allegations.

The controversy has sparked intense discussion within the industry, drawing attention to professional commitments, continuity challenges, and the pressures surrounding high-profile franchise films.
