Richa Chadha promotes the message of Eco Ganesha

Richa Chadha who’s often known for supporting various causes has now come forth with the upcoming festive spirit of Ganesh Chaturthi to support the initiative of Eco-Friendly Ganesha.

Richa visited the unique centre of Tree Ganesha in Mumbai today which is an initiative by Dattadri Kothur, who started the concept of building Ganesha idols made of material which dissolves into becoming a tree one can plant at their own homes/spaces.

This unique initiative definitely is one of its kind that help support and further the idea of the festivities while also giving importance to saving the environment. Richa and Dattadri built an idol at the workshop as a part of the activity.

The tree Ganesh urges devotees to do their bit to save the environment by bringing home an idol of Tree Ganesha. Made of red soil, organic fertilizer, natural colour and seeds, this unique idol is designed to grow in to a tree after immersion. Go ahead. Book your idol and take the first step towards a greener future.

Dattadir Kothur is no ordinary man, he is the  creative director with a leading ad agency, but it’s his environment friendly creation that’s been the talk of town. So much so that Dattadri Kothur, Founder and Creator of Tree Ganesha, has been flooded with queries and orders not just from Mumbai, but from Surat, Bengaluru and even Dubai and the United States.

As reported by NDTV, Kothur has come up with the concept of Tree Ganesha, an eco-friendly Ganesh idol, made from red soil and organic fertiliser with seeds at its base. It needs no immersion, just use water and the idol disintegrates into the soil that’s nurtures the seeds.

“When we made the video of the Tree Ganesha to share on social media, all we wanted was a few thousand views. I hadn’t imagined so many would be interested in it. It’s got over a million views and I’ve got more than 5000 orders. We had to stop taking orders in just three days of putting up the video,” said Dattadri Kothur.

In fact, Mr Kothur had to turn away many who were interested. “I’ve managed to make only 400 plus orders,” he said. But some of the Tree Ganesha’s have gone as far as Dubai, shared Kothur to NDTV
