Playing Simran in ‘Jamai No. 1’ has been an emotional and fun-filled ride: Jinal Jain Featured Funtainment by Akanksha - June 4, 20250 Jinal Jain, who has been winning hearts with her portrayal of the lively yet emotionally grounded Simran in the popular show Jamai No. 1 produced by Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah , is more than just a promising face on television — she’s a performer who believes in living her character. In an exclusive conversation, Jinal shares her personal connection with Simran, her camaraderie with co-stars Abhishek Malik and Simaran Kaur, and how she keeps herself grounded in the whirlwind world of daily soaps. “Simran is one of the closest characters to my heart. She’s strong, yet emotional, and there’s so much depth in her relationships — especially with her jiju Neel, played by Abhishek Malik,” Jinal shares in an exclusive chat. “When I first read the script, I instantly felt connected to Simran. She’s emotional, expressive, and full of heart — much like me in real life.” In the show, Jinal’s character Simran shares a warm and complex equation with her jiju, Neel, played by Abhishek Malik — and the rapport off-camera is equally special. “Abhishek is an absolute delight to work with,” Jinal smiles. “He has this calm, composed energy that makes everyone on set feel at ease.“ Their real-life bonding often spills into lighter moments too. “We’re both foodies, so lunch breaks are a big deal! We often exchange lunch boxes and chat about everything under the sun.” If there’s another bond Jinal cherishes on set, it’s with her co-star Simaran Kaur, who plays her sister in the show. The duo have forged a genuine friendship that goes beyond their scenes. “Simaran and I became friends on day one — it was effortless. She’s the one I turn to when I’m having a bad day or even if I just want to share a meme!” Jinal laughs. Despite the hectic schedules that come with daily soap shoots, Jinal finds joy in the little things on set. “I’ve made my little cozy corner in the makeup room where I light a scented candle, plug in my earphones, and just chill out before a scene. It helps me stay centered,” she reveals. Photography is another on-set passion. “I love taking candid behind-the-scenes pictures — not the posed ones, but those raw, real moments that we often forget to notice. Those are the memories I cherish.” When it comes to unwinding after long shooting hours, Jinal prefers simplicity over extravagance. “People often assume actors have very glamorous ways of relaxing, but for me, it’s all about a cup of chai on the balcony, soft music in the background, and journaling,” she says thoughtfully.
