The 2nd Edition of Mumbai Art Fair from October 11-13 at Nehru Centre, Worli, continues to grow in scale, brings in a variety of mother Earth, full of umpteenth shades and colours! The 2019 edition of the prestigious fair brings 325 artists – young, upcoming and seniors, along with master artists, all under one roof, exhibiting over 3,000 artworks including paintings, sculptures, photographs, ceramics, and original prints in about 130 air-conditioned booths. The inaugural ceremony was a star-studded affair, that saw Chief Guest Vivek Oberoi and Guests of Honour Pooja Bedi, Madhushree and Kunal Kohli among others. The do was also attended by Rajendra – Director, Mumbai Art Fair; artists Gautam Patole, Prakash Bal Joshi, Prithvi Soni, Rupali Madan, Reena Naik, Vishwa Sahni, Sonu Gupta among many others.

Being the avid art collector he is, Vivek Oberoi was seen interacting with a number of artists, discussing nuances of their works while he also purchased artworks from Charcoal Master Gautam Patole. “It is indeed commendable to be able to exhibit so many artworks in a city like Mumbai where you can barely find a place to live! Artists should get the chance to showcase their talent and seek inspiration from art. I think the Mumbai Art Fair team is doing a great service to artists and I love what they are doing! What I also like is that they are making art more accessible, not more elitist. I see that there are youngsters and young couples here who are on a budget and can still afford to buy beautiful works. I specifically enjoyed Gautam Patole’s works a lot. He is a fine artist when it comes to charcoal, and as such, charcoal painting is a difficult task. White is the definition and you need to fill in black in between. This has really been a fantastic experience!”

Mumbai Art Fair will be on till 13th October at Nehru Centre, Worli, daily 11 am to 7:30 pm.
