Bollywood Couch founder Jutika Mahanta further shines with Mahatma Gandhi National Award 2020. An entrepreneur, consultant (PR, Media & Marketing) and mother of two is overwhelmed to be recognized with prestigious “Mahatma Gandhi National Award 2020” for her excellent service, contribution, dedication and devotion towards humanity, peacebuilding & brotherhood ‘ The award was announced on 25th of July 2020 at New Delhi by Mahatma Gandhi Global Peace Forum on a virtual platform.
Jutikaa Mahanta has already made it to the list of “51 Most Inspiring Women of India” by ICICI in 2017 and her inspiring story has been featured in various exhibitions in many cities of India under “My Identity My Pride” Series.
She also works as a community worker who has been striving to work for the welfare of the Assamese community while at the same time, establishing new vistas for Assam across the globe. A rooted Assamese represented Assam and North East in various platforms in the western part of the country. She has been actively involved in various volunteering work in the field of women empowerment, health, education etc.
Besides her work in the social field, she has also been playing a pivotal role in establishing new vistas of Assam with other parts of the world. A mother of two was nominated as the “International Planning Coordinator” for “Axom Xahitya Xabha” and was instrumental in setting up branches of the apex body in Singapore which serves as Gateway to South East Asia. She has also taken an active part in initiating literary exchanges between “Axom Xahitya Xabha” and “Marathi Sahitya Parishad”.
Her life journey has also been featured in a coffee table book, ‘Celebrating Women’, alongside many stalwarts like Padmashree Sindhu Tai Sakpal, Padmashree Biru Bala Rabha, etc.
Jutika has been conferred with many awards that include “Prag Prerona Award” on the occasion of International Women’s day by PRAG News in 2018 and V Shinning Example of Excellence Awards 2020 in the category of Social Work in Pune on International Women’s Day. She is also the proud recipient of “Lioness Award ” Gold National Award for Woman of Strength at First National Women Leadership Conference held in Hyderabad and supported by United Nation and Govt of Telangana.
While being asked on her feelings on receiving Mahatma Gandhi National Award 2020 she says ” I am extremely humbled and encouraged for such prestigious recognition, it always feels good to be recognised for your work, initially when we start our social work there is hardly any support, with time more hands join in and make it an achievement to cherish with all’. Jutikaa has recently been conferred with “Akaxar Ramdhenu-Axon Gaurab Sanman” by Asom Sahitya Sabha in Raha Adhibexan.
She is the Co-organiser for 1st North East Unsung Heroes Red Carpet Social Awards; Mumbai 2019 a platform to encourage and felicitate unsung heroes of different categories from all the 8 states of North East in Mumbai. Bombay Stock Exchange is the presenting partner for the event and Hon Governor oh Maharashtra Sjt Bhagat Singh Koshiyari has graced the social event as Chief Guest.
Jutika is involved with various National and Internation women-centric bodies like LOANI (Ladies of All Nations International), WICCI (Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry)- She Economy, WILL Forum India, WEE (Women Entrepreneurial Enclave ) and many others and tirelessly contributing her best to uplift women across the globe.
“We women should stand and support for ourselves and by doing so we can create a better ecosystem worldwide” shares Jutika while being asked on her future plan. She also thanks Mahatma Gandhi Global Peace Forum for recognising her efforts. She looks forward to attending the Global Peace Conference which is expected to take place in Oct in New Delhi.
