Vikrant Kumar Jaitly, who has been abducted and detained in the United Arab Emirates since 6 September 2024, according to her petition. She shared that she has not been able to speak to him for the past 15 months. Delhi High Court Hears Petition Seeking Access and Legal Representation Celina Jaitley informed that the Hon’ble Delhi High Court heard her petition seeking access to her brother and ensuring legal representation for him. During the hearing, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) submitted its Status Report and appointed a Nodal Officer to coordinate with her regarding the case and facilitate communication. She stated that while she still has not been able to speak to her brother, Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Chetan Sharma informed the Court that the Government of India would make its best efforts to enable a conversation between them. Court Directs MEA to Facilitate Access The presiding Judge directed the Ministry to take steps to facilitate her access to Maj. Vikrant. Celina expressed gratitude to the Court and the ASG for acknowledging her family’s suffering and recognising four generations of service to the Indian Armed Forces. The next hearing is scheduled for 23 December 2025, and Celina said she remains hopeful about the progress ahead.
