Amitabh, Aishwarya, Aamir, Salman invited to join the Oscar Academy!

Well, it is definitely a proud moment for all the Indians that few A listers  of Bollywood,  including Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai and a few others have been extended an invitation by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to become members.

These Bollywood actors have been invited to join the  prestigious Oscar organisation as members. The other Bollywood biggies to have been extended an invitation include Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Irrfan Khan, Deepika Padukone & Priyanka Chopra.Apart from these actors, directors like Mrinal Sen, Buddhadeb Dasgupta and Goutam Ghose are among the Indians invited to be a part of the Oscar Academy’s ‘Class of 2017’.

This time a record breaking 774 new members have been invited to join the Oscars organization as opposed to last year’s 683. This brings the total membership closer to 8,500. Some of the notable Hollywood names are also included in the list.

We are sure this will be great news to all those Bollywood actors who have received an invitation to be a part of the club. Here’s a list of the actors and casting directors who have been extended an invitation.

The announcement was made on Wednesday.

“We’re proud to invite our newest class to the Academy. The entire motion picture community is what we make of it,” Cheryl Boone Isaacs, President of the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences, was quoted as saying on the official Oscar website.

“It’s up to all of us to ensure that new faces and voices are seen and heard, and to take a shot on the next generation the way someone took a shot on each of us,” Isaacs added.

Aamir Khan for his work in 3 Idiots and Lagaan, Priyanka Chopra for her work in Baywatch and Barfi have been included in the coveted list.

Not only this, our very own Dabangg Khan, Salman Khan is also on the list for Sultan and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan makes it to the list along with her megastar father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan.

Apart from these Bollywood biggies, the versatile and the talented actor Irrfan Khan, who has done many Hollywood films, is also invited from the Academy to be a part of the list.
