Makar Sankranti is one festival that we celebrate with full on Dhamaka and traditional indian clothing is seen in the men and women.Patiala suits in bright shades of red, pink, green with heavy work of zardozi and phulkari are ideal for the occasion.

Talking about her memories regarding the festival, she says “I have many good childhood memories associated with Lohri and the vibrancy of this festival. The songs, the dances, the coming together of families will always be something I’ll cherish”.

“I also love wearing Patiala suits in bright colours like red, pink and emerald green to celebrate the festival Lohri that falls Jan 13 this year. I complement the look with traditional jewelry and bold lip colors.” Says the actress.

Innovatively embroidered bright colored clothes are donned on this day. Women are mostly dressed in colorful patiala salwar suits along with heavy and chunky gold jewelry. They also wear a traditional ‘maang tika’ which enhances the look. Men are dressed in traditional dhotis and kurtas, along with the pagdi. They also drape a stoll or scarf around their neck, which usually matches the color of the turbans or the pajama. Patiala juttis are worn to finish the look, which enhances the look. Some women also go for saris, which are usually in light fabrics or colors.
