Actor turned producer Afri Lamba, who has featured in Bollywood films like ‘F.U.G.L.Y’, ‘Singh is Bling’ and his latest international release ‘The Gift’, has yet made another hard impacting film ‘The Idiot’ which essays him as the lead. Produced under his production house; Bombay Berlin Pictures, ‘The Idiot’ is a political satire that exposes the bigotry of a society fed on religious stereotypes and paranoia. It deals with the important issue of ISLAMOPHOBIA and uses dark humor as a tool to convey the ridiculousness of our prejudices which are inspired by true events.

Talented actor Arfi has been known and lauded for his path breaking performances and playing hardball with strong content and proficient cinema. ‘The Idiot’ has got selected in 40th Asian American International Film Festival of New York and will have its world premiere on the 27th of July. It is the oldest and most reputed Asian Film Festival in America and we are in its ‘Official Selection’. The short film is directed by Ruchi Joshi and Sriram Ganapathy. Ruchi is a writer-director. Her feature film script ‘All about Her’ was selected for NFDC Screenwriter’s Lab, Sarajevo and she is currently in talks with production houses for 2 of her other scripts to be directed by her. Sriram has shot many ad films and recently directed Amitabh Bachchan in one. He has also shot 5 feature films including sixteen and Jigariya.

Bombay Berlin Picture’s last film, LOEV, has travelled the world over and competed in 40+ prestigious International film festivals and is now sold exclusively to Netflix. Also ‘The Road to Mandalay, on which we are the German Co-Producers, opened up in Venice International Film Festival and won the European Critics Award there. The Film Just had its German premiere at Munich International Film festival and still touring after being invited to compete in more than 50 festivals.
